United Streetcar�s mission is to provide modern, efficient, safe and reliable American-manufactured streetcars and to be a pioneering force in increasing urban transit options throughout the United States. United Streetcar, a subsidiary of Oregon Iron Works, Inc., was formed in 2005. United Streetcar manufactured the first Buy-America compliant modern streetcar in the U.S. for the City of Portland, Oregon. United Streetcar is currently under contract for six more streetcars for the City of Portland�s East Side Loop Project, and has been declared the manufacturer of the City of Tucson�s new seven streetcar project.
Through becoming the premier US manufacturer of modern streetcars, United Streetcar continues OIW's history of being a recognized leader in the local community by bringing additional living wage jobs to the area and contributing to the overall economic vitality of the region.
